Forum for people with disabilities scheduled

Oct 26, 2017 @ 4:30 pm. - 6:30 pm.

The 21st annual Legislative Forum for People with Disabilities will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Oct. 26 at the Velma McWayne Santos Community Center in Wailuku.

The theme of the free meeting is “Community Inclusion,” and state and county lawmakers will be on hand to answer questions and speak to constituents.

People needing access accommodations should contact Roxann Kehus at 984-8218 or Roxann.kehus@doh.hawaii.gov by Thursday. There is no assurance that requests for access accommodations received after the deadline will be met.

Lawmakers will engage with community members via a game of “Ohana Feud,” in answering questions about issues facing the public.

The forum is sponsored by the Maui Disability Alliance, which is an association of 29 groups on Maui serving the needs of people with disabilities.
