Hula ku’i kumu hula Michael Pili Pang and his Muolaulani dance group will perform a hula ku’i — a descriptive dance style that blends traditional hula with Western idioms — at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Makawao Public Library.

In addition, The Hawaiian Serenaders, Richard Tom and Mele Fong, will share information about the ukulele and demonstrate how applying different rhythm patterns affect the feel of a song at the following libraries:

• Kahului Public Library — 6:30 p.m., Tuesday.

• Hana Public & School Library — 1 p.m., Wednesday.

• Wailuku Public Library — 6:30 p.m., Thursday.

The Friends of the Library of Hawaii is sponsoring these free programs along with the Hawaii State Public Library System.
