Ka Lima O Maui to present job fair

Oct 20, 2017 @ 9:00 am. - 11:30 am.

Ka Lima O Maui, a nonprofit organization that specializes in helping adults with disabilities by providing job skills training and employment services, will hold its 66th annual Job Fair from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Oct 20 at the Velma McWayne Santos Community Center in Wailuku.

The job fair is open to all persons, many of whom will be entering the workforce for the first time. There is no cost to attend and no cost to businesses to have a table. Ka Lima O Maui anticipates more than 30 employers will participate. All disability providers and their clients are encouraged to attend.

The job fair is held in honor of National Disability Employment Awareness Month, an annual awareness campaign that takes place each October. The purpose of NDEAM is to educate the public about disability employment issues and celebrate the many and varied contributions of America’s workers with disabilities. This year’s theme is “Inclusion Drives Innovation.”

Ka Lima O Maui has been “Enhancing Lives through Self-Reliance” since 1955 by providing a variety of different services such as grounds and custodial services, internship and job placement programs, ticket to work and the Medicaid Waiver Program.
