Maui orchestra and chorus will perform

Aug 13, 2017 @ 1:30 pm. - 5:00 pm.

The Maui Chamber Orchestra and Chorus will close its 2016-17 season with a grand finale concert at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center’s Castle Theater at 3 p.m. Sunday. The concert, titled “French Impressions,” will feature the works of the famed impressionist composers Maurice Ravel and Claude Debussy, along with some works by the late 19th century romantic composer who influenced both Ravel and Debussy, Gabriel Faure.

The program will present some of their most well-known works in unusual performances. For example, orchestra and chorus will perform Faure’s “Pavane for a Dead Princess,” but they will do the seldom-heard choral version of the work.

Tickets range from $20 to $60 with applicable fees and are available from the MACC box office or by going to www.mauiarts.org or www.mauichamberorchestra.org.

Conversations with the conductor, Robert E. Wills, will precede the concert at 1:30 p.m.
