Sugar museum has special display
Nov 27, 2017 @ 9:30 am. - Dec 31, 2017 @ 4:00 pm.
The Alexander & Baldwin Sugar Museum is displaying a selection of panels depicting the heroic and historic story of the 100th Infantry Battalion and the 442nd Regimental Combat Team through Feb. 28.
The panels are part of the Nisei Veterans Memorial Center’s “One Puka Puka: The Purple Heart Battalion” exhibit. The battalion was composed almost entirely of second-generation Japanese from Hawaii. Many of them were members of the plantation community.
The museum is located across from the former Hawaiian Commercial & Sugar Co. mill and is open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
