July 4th barbecue bash benefits Lanai Cancer Fund
Those heading to Lanai for today’s July 4th holiday will want to check out the RED, HOT and BLUE event at Kailani restaurant, located at Four Seasons Resort Lana’i at Manele Bay.
“The evening benefits the Lanai Cancer Foundation and will feature both American barbecue stations and Hawaiian rum cocktails with Koloa Rum Company,” says Michelle Edwards, public relations director for the resort.
The party runs from 5 to 9 p.m. with Chef Dario’s Big Bad Burger station, featuring Snake River Farm’s wagyu beef burgers, Koloa dark rum chicken burgers, and Koloa white rum and cilantro mahi burgers with sides of cole slaw, charred corn, and roasted jalapeno and red onion salad.
Another station is Everything Tastes Better with Bacon. Pile your plates with French fries and powdered bacon, bacon-and-green-onion potato salad, and even prunes wrapped in bacon.
There will also be a salad bar with bacon croutons and bacon bits.
The station, Humdinger Finger-Licking Chicken Wings, will feature from classic spicy buffalo wings to Koloa dark rum and coke wings with garlic pickled cucumbers, kim chee celery sticks and dips and sauces including Point Reyes blue cheese. Make sure to check out the dessert station.
Cost is $65 for adults; and $25 for keiki, plus tax and gratuity. Call (808) 565-2000.
