The Class Act reopens for semester

The Leis Family Class Act restaurant has reopened for business for the fall semester at UH Maui College in Kahului. Situated upstairs in Maui Culinary Academy’s state-of-the-art Pa’ina Building, it serves lunch only with seatings from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Four-course prix-fixe menus span the globe, and rotate regularly for variety. This Friday, along with next week, the Class Act will serve an American-influenced menu. The appetizer is pastrami-cured salmon gravlax ice-cream sandwich with lemon relish.

Then you get a choice of roasted beet, apple and goat cheese salad; or fennel, leek and potato soup. The entree choices are almond-crusted kampachi; pancetta-wrapped pork loin; or braised short ribs. Dessert is strawberry and rhubarb linzer tart. Cost is $29 to $36 per person. For more details, call 984-3280.
