Spirited samplings now offered at Ocean Vodka
Ocean Vodka Organic Farm and Distillery in Kula recently launched onsite samplings of its spirits to complement its daily tours.
Starting earlier this week, Ocean Vodka samplings were added to the daily tours in a designated sipping area outdoors, bordering one of its organically grown sugar cane fields.
Tour times are 9:30,10:30 and 11:30 a.m., as well as 12:30, 1:30, 2:30 and 3:30 p.m. Entrance to tours is $10 a person, which includes a small sampling with take-home souvenir Ocean Vodka shot glass for those 21 and older.
Children 12 and older may accompany parents on the tour, sans the alcohol, for the same price. Younger children get in free.
The only 100-percent solar-powered distillery in Hawaii, Ocean Vodka boasts tour leaders who teach the importance of organic farming, the conservation of land and ocean, green manufacturing, as well as the production of spirits.
Tours include a guided walk-through of the martini garden, organic farm, cane fields, craft distillery and gift shop.
“The ability for our family to offer samples of our award-winning Ocean Vodka truly rounds out our organic farm and craft distillery tour experience,” says Shay Smith, president and CEO. “The unique flavor profile of Ocean Vodka, with its distinctive mineral content, tastes even more delicious on the farm while overlooking the Pacific!”
The increasingly popular tourist stop is set on 80 acres on Omaopio Road below Surfing Goat Dairy on the slopes of Mount Haleakala. Ocean Vodka captures panoramic views of Maui’s north and south shores, so bring your cameras.
In addition, Ocean Vodka will set the stage for the Huliau Food & Film Festival from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Saturday with a four-course meal, live music, student films, silent auction and cash bar. Tickets are $75. Visit www.mauihuliaufoundation.org.
