Stella Blues Cafe does delivery
This time of year, guests may drop by unexpectedly. What do you do when you’re not prepared?
Hungry South Mauians are picking up the phone and calling Stella Blues Cafe in Kihei. It recently launched a new delivery service for lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and for dinner from 5 to 8 p.m.
“Here on Maui, it’s pretty much pizza or nothing,” says partner Cindy Eiting. “But Stella Blues is changing all that. We charge $5 for delivery from North Kihei to Wailea, and more to Makena, with a $20 minimum purchase.”
Dropped off at your doorstep for dinner can be Mama’s meat loaf; baby back pork ribs with corn bread and slaw; and seafood stew packed with clams, fish, mussels and shrimp in a flavorful saffron-tomato broth with aioli.
Vegetarians may order yellow curry with tofu, Caprese salads, veggie lasagne and artichoke-jalapeno dip.
“We also offer fresh island fish as well as imported fish,” says Eiting. “Styles are grilled with tamarind vinaigrette, roasted with macadamia nuts, and sesame-crusted with shiitake soy butter sauce.
Pupu are plentiful and include chicken wings with celery, carrot sticks and blue cheese dressing, quesadillas with chicken, pork or shrimp along with salsa and sour cream, and frozen desserts such as mud pie with whipped cream.
