New juice bar quenches thirsts in Wailea

Thousands of visitors and residents walk and jog along Wailea Beach Walk, which stretches from The Fairmont Kea Lani, Maui all the way north to the new Andaz Maui.

Now, there’s a new pit stop where you may quench your thirst in the thick of it all. It’s the Whale’s Tale Juice Bar in the old Lauhala Hut oceanfront at Wailea Beach Marriott Resort & Spa.

From 6:30 a.m. to noon daily, the Whale’s Tale team blends fresh tropical juices, pours Starbucks coffees and dishes up breakfast fare.

“We’re working hard to offer things that resonate with our guests,” says the resort’s General Manager John Tolbert. “Many of whom are health-conscious and juice at home. We’ve also added nice residential patio furniture. You may look out and enjoy views of Neighbor Islands and ocean activities. This beach walk is the best in Hawaii, if not the world.”

Green vegetable drinks include the Revitalization, the Hangover Cure and the Spicy Dragon, the latter with juiced celery, apple, ginger, lemon, parsley and cayenne pepper.

More fruit-forward drinks include the Zen Tonic, the Sunrise and the Flu Fighter with Maui Gold pineapple full of bromine, along with the juices of apples, oranges and ginger.

Whale’s Tale also bakes fresh banana bread from the recipe of Kiyo Miller, the GM’s executive assistant, along with mango scones created by Executive Chef Manfred Jonas. The recipe from the Spicy Dragon comes from juice bar manager Ha Le. You may also buy yogurt, breakfast sandwiches, wraps and salads. For more details, call 879-1922.
