Are you thirsty for knowledge? Thirsty for something new? Or just plain, ol’ thirsty?
One of the best ways to quench your desires is from 6 to 9 p.m. every Thursday at Grand Wailea’s Botero Bar in the main lobby.
In a nutshell, you get three inspired cocktails along with a light appetizer that is picked by management – all for $20. The drinks normally cost $16 apiece, so it’s an extended happy hour to the nth degree.
Last month, bartenders mixed and muddled Grey Goose cocktails. This month, it’s a tasting menu of Midori drinks, including the Midori Illusion and the Melon Orange Dream, both served on the rocks; and you also get to sip the Tropical Midori Colada, blended. Of course, you must be at least 21 and older to imbibe.
With the purchase of the Thirsty Thursday package, you also get 20 percent off other food ordered at the bar and 50 percent off its well drinks, domestic beers and house wines by the glass. Happy hour runs from 5 to 6 nightly, but it’s extended for Thirsty Thursday guests.
Botero Bar is surrounded by nine massive sculptures by Colombian artist Fernando Botero, works that have become irresistible to the likes of casino/hotel mogul Steve Wynn and others. Many of the nightly bartenders have been at the helm since Grand Wailea opened 22 years ago and have a local following. Nightly entertainment runs from 5 to 9. For more details, call 875-1234.
