The Shops at Wailea announces the launch of the biweekly Market at The Shops starting Wednesday with produce from local farmers, specialty food providers, artisans and live music.

“We’re pleased to be able to find new and exciting ways to connect guests and residents to Maui’s best farmers, ranchers and artisans,” says Brian Yano, general manager of the expansive mall. “Working with Maui farmers and entrepreneurs allows us an opportunity to showcase local, healthy foods and artisanal goods while supporting our agricultural economy and enhancing our guests’ shopping experience.”

Participating vendors are Kumu Farms, Maui Olive Co., Cupcake Ladies Catering Co., Shaka Pops Maui, Blue Door Bread Co., HI Spice, Maverick Events and Grown on Maui, to name a few.

Live entertainment will be provided by Hawaiian musician Larry Endrina. Besides the farm produce, fresh flowers and tropical treats, you may enjoy specials on clothing and accessories from participating merchants. Anyone who purchases $50 or more that day in goods will get a complimentary reusable canvas tote.

The Market will be held on the ground floor and take place from 4 to 6 p.m. on the second and fourth Wednesday of every month.

Special event parking validations will be $5 for four hours with a portion of proceeds going to Boys & Girls Club of Maui this month. The beneficiaries will rotate.

The Market at The Shops is committed to supporting agriculture on Maui by providing a place for the community to find, connect and learn about farm-fresh and sustainably grown produce, specialty food products and artisanal goods available direct from the source.

The Market will also serve to provide an educational forum for residents and visitors alike to learn the uses and benefits of locally grown or produced products, to enhance the quality of life by providing a community activity which fosters social gathering and to have a place for Maui nonprofits to raise awareness of their causes.
