With donations to schools and other Maui nonprofit organizations, lively happy hours, nightly Kona Maine lobster specials, kamaaina discounts and plenty of room for large private parties, 5 Palms restaurant at the Mana Kai Resort in Kihei keeps cooking.

“Last month, we donated $1 of each Bloody Mary sold to Kamalii Elementary School in Kihei for its science program,” says 5 Palms General Manager Moki Chong Kee. “The money went to Cindy, the science teacher, to put to her science program, which she currently pays for out of her own pocket.”

With its prime perch on Keawakapu Beach offering views of Neighbor Islands and ocean action, 5 Palms is the perfect place to book private parties.

“This time of year, we are getting lots of requests for graduation parties, weddings, birthdays, anniversaries and even business events,” says Wedding & Events Manager Bobbilyn Jones.

On top of that, 5 Palms offers kamaaina discounts of 20 percent on all breakfast, lunch and dinner entrees for those with valid state ID. And it serves breakfast and lunch both from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. For more details, call 879-2607.
