Back Door Bake Shop pop-up reopens Friday
Do you crave freshly baked breads and desserts warm from the oven? The University of Hawaii Maui College Culinary Arts Program is filling the niche with its the pop-up Back Door Bake Shop on the Kahului campus.
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Fridays starting this week and running through July 27, Program Coordinator Teresa Shurilla and her talented pastry students will be baking up a storm.
This Friday, you’ll find aromatic French baguettes, sourdough bread, focaccia, white pan bread and more. June 29, croissants, brioche, scones and muffins will rule. July 6, Napoleons, cream puffs, pithiviers and eclairs will be calling your name. July 13, cookies and brownies will take center stage. July 20, petit fours will be the desserts du jour; and on July 27, chocolate bon bons will be the grand finale.
