THURSDAY, JULY 4

FREE FOURTH OF JULY CONCERT IN THE PARK

The Arts Education for Children Group presents a free concert by the Maui Community Band. The concert will be filled with patriotic songs, Broadway tunes, Sousa marches and more from 7 p.m. at the Lahaina Public Library lawn. Jerry Eiting leads the sing along and is also the featured vocalist during the fireworks display at 8 p.m. A preshow by UH-Maui College’s Institute of Hawaiian Music students will begin at 4:30 p.m. For more information, visit “http://www.jazzmaui.org”>www.jazzmaui.org. CELEBRATE THE 4TH IN LAHAINA

The LahainaTownAction Committee will present a 4th of July celebration from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at Campbell Park. DJRon will host from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. John Stephan, singer from Maui Theater’s new show, “You Got It,” will sing from 8:30 to 9 p.m. Food and drinks will be available. 12TH ANNUAL LAHAINA FIREWORKS SHOW

The Maui Chamber of Commerce will host the 12th annual 4th of July fireworks celebration. The fireworks show will begin at 8 p.m. on a barge off of Front Street. Front Street will be closed to vehicular traffic from Baker Street to Lahainaluna Road from 4 to 9:30 p.m.

FIRST FRIDAY TOWN PARTY IN WAILUKU

It’s a Maui Thing! MauiThing celebrates its 5th anniversary with a secret band performing live during its summer fashion show at 6:30 p.m. First Friday hours are 6 to 9 p.m. and Market Street will be closed from 5:30 p.m. For more information, visit www.mauifridays.com.

“DISNEY’S 101 DALMATIONS KIDS”

Students ages 7 to 12 of Maui Academy of Performing Arts will star in “Disney’s 101 Dalmations Kids,” from 5 and 7 p.m. Friday; 2 and 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Steppingstone Playhouse in Queen Ka’ahumanu Center. Tickets are $12 for adults; and $8 for students 12 and younger. For reservations, call 244-8760. Tickets may also be purchased at the customer service kiosk at the Queen Ka’ahumanu Center. O-BON FESTIVAL AT LAHAINA JODO MISSION

The Lahaina Jodo Mission will celebrate its annual O-bon festival to honor beloved ones and ancestors who have passed away. Service starts at 6:30 p.m., followed by lantern procession and floating lantern ceremony. Food concessions open at 6 p.m. and dancing will start at 8 p.m. The mission is located at 12 Ala Moana St. next to Mala Wharf. For more information, call 661-4304.

PO’OKELA CHURCH ANNUAL BAZAAR

Enjoy free entertainment, Makawao Paniolo Parade parking, jumping castle, a variety of food, rummage sale, silent auction and more from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Po’okela Church. The church is located at 200 Olinda Road.

ANNUAL PINEAPPLE FESTIVAL IN LANAI

Join the festivities with Emcee Billy V featuring singer Sunway from 3 to 9 p.m. at Dole Park. Local entertainment, prizes, food, crafts and fireworks display will be available. Expeditions will have a late ferry from Manele to Lahaina at 10 p.m.
