THIS YEAR THERE ARE ‘GHOSTS ON THE COAST’ IN LAHAINA. The LahainaTown Action Committee and the Office of Economic Development hosts a family-friendly Halloween event for the residents and visitors of Maui. Front Street will be closed from 3:30 p.m. to midnight Tuesday, from Baker Street to Prison Street. No vehicular traffic and no parking on Front Street. Schedule of events:
4:30 p.m. Keiki Costume Parade. Maui keiki are invited to come in costume and parade down Front Street and across the stage at Banyan Tree Park where all keiki receive a congratulatory ribbon and a bag of treats.
5 to 8:45 p.m. Adult Costume Contest registration will be in a Pioneer Inn retail store on Hotel Street.
Banyan Tree Park:
6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Dance and mingle under the Banyan Tree with music by DJ Serna.
7 to 9 p.m. Costume Contest on the stage under the Banyan Tree.
9:30 p.m. Costume Contest winners will be announced.
Campbell Park:
Noon to 10 p.m. Commemorative “Halloween in Lahaina” T-shirts are for sale.
4 p.m. Food, photo opportunities and face painting will be available.
4 to 5:45 p.m. Celebrate and dance with DJ Zinn.
6 to 8:30 p.m. Luna Overdrive will provide live music.
Express buses are available. Tickets cost $10 one way and must be bought in advance. On-line sales only. Tickets are non-refundable.
