• View acclaimed marine artist’s limitless flow. Robert Lyn Nelson expands his innovative modern marine style with new techniques and subject matter. “Just Plain Air” Art Exhibit. Darrell Orwig and a group of upcountry, Maui artists present a community show of their oil pastels of Maui landscapes and gardens this Saturday and Sundayfrom 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 4785 Hana Highway — one of the participating artist’s makai property in Haiku. • Help Maui youth discover art. Lahaina Arts Association’s annual Silent Auction at Banyan Tree Park takes place between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Sunday in Lahaina. • Be amazed by our local talent. An exhibit of works by UH Maui College art students will be on display at the college library from Nov. 15 through Dec. 1. The public is invited to the opening reception and poetry reading from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday in the UH-MC library, with the poetry reading at 3:45 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.
