MAUI CHAMBER ORCHESTRA SHOWCASES YOUNG ARTISTS. The MCO highlights the three winners of its first ever Youth Concerto Competition at 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday at the Historic Iao Theater in Wailuku. Co-winners of the Junior Division are violinist sisters Yxing and Ylang Guo, ages 10 and 12, who hail from Oahu. Yxing will perform “Winter” from Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons.” Ylang will perform the first movement of Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 5 in A major. Senior Division winner, pianist Bryce Clearing Sky from Maui, will perform the first movement of Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 1 in C major. Visiting rising cello phenom Jonah Ellsworth is also featured. Tickets are $27 to $55, with $10 student tickets available for ages 18 and younger in the $27 seat section.
