CATCH ‘PEANUTS’ ANTICS AT PROARTS PLAYHOUSE

ProArts Playhouse continues “You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown” at 7:30 p.m. with additional performances at 7:30 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays, 3 p.m. Sundays through May 13 at the ProArts Playhouse in Kihei. MAUI PREMIERE OF “GO FOR BROKE”

“Go For Broke: an Origins Story” tell the tale of the famed 442nd Infantry Regiment Combat Team of WWII — the most decorated unit in the history of the U.S. military for its size and time in history. Features a star-studded, all-Japanese American cast, mostly from Hawaii. Tickets are $20 and $25 for the 6:30 p.m. movie only. Add $30 for a pre-movie dinner catered by Da Kitchen and a 1940s style cabaret show beginning at 5 p.m. at the Historic Iao Theater in Wailuku. FRIDAY TOWN PARTY LEI DAY IN WAILUKU

This free family event will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on historic Market Street. The theme this month is Lei Day in Wailuku and everyone is encouraged to wear a lei or their favorite Aloha print outfits. Enjoy free entertainment, food booths and trucks, art, crafts and plenty of great local shopping. Entertainment by Natalie Nicole Band on the Maui Thing stage and Nevah Too Late by the Banyan Tree stage. MAUI CLASSICAL MUSIC FESTIVAL 2018

The 2018 Maui Classical Music Festival will include four concerts around the island and features guitarist Colin Davin; pianists Jeewon Park and Katherine Collier; cellist Edward Arron and Peter Wiley; violinist Benny Kim and Scott St. John; and violist Sharon Wei and Yizhak Schotten. Tonight is “Basically Beethoven” at 7 at Makawao Union Church, (1445 Baldwin Avenue); Monday offers “Tangos and Romance” at 7 p.m. at Keawala’i Congregational Church, (5300 Makena Rd., Kihei). Wednesday moves to Hana at 6 p.m. in Wananalua Congregational Church, (10 Hauoli St., Hana). The festival ends May 11, at 7 p.m. back at Keawala’i Congregational Church. NA HOLO WAHINE 5K RUN, AND 1 MILE WALK

The Valley Isle Road Runners will present the 39th annual Woman’s 5K Run and 1-Mile Walk, “Na Holo Wahine” from 6 to 10 a.m. at Keopuolani Park in Kahului. VIRR has chosen to partner with The Maui Farm; proceeds from this event will be used to support the Family Strengthening Program, which provides transitional housing and life-skills training for Maui families who have been displaced due to domestic violence and economic challenges, and offers support towards self-sufficiency. MAPA’S DANCE 2018 SPRING EXTRAVAGANZA

Maui Academy of Performing Arts presents four shows at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center in Kahului. The weekend opens at 1 p.m. with dancers of all ages strutting their stuff in hip hop, jazz and contemporary. At 7:30 p.m., MAPA’s most experienced dancers presents “MOVES” featuring guest appearances by Adaptations Dance Theater and other Maui dance ensembles. On Sunday, 200 ballerinas present two performances of the whimsical ballet, “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.” Tickets are $17 for Jazz, Tap & Hip Hop and Ballet; $22 for adults and $17 for students with ID for MOVES (plus applicable fees). MAUI WAENA SCHOOL CONCERT AT MACC

Enjoy the annual School Band Concert Series presenting the Maui Waena Intermediate School Band at 6:30 p.m. in the Castle Theater at the MACC. The concert allows the next generation of musicians to experience the same world-class stage setting that the superstars enjoy. Open to the public. Admission is free.
