SHOWCASE FEATURES ORIGINAL WORKS WITH CREATIVE CONNECTION TO HAWAII.

If you love film and you love Hawaii, check out Maui’s inaugural screening of the ‘Ohina Short Film Showcase beginning at 7 p.m. at McCoy Studio Theater at Maui Arts & Cultural Center in Kahului. Since 1999, ‘Ohina has been Hawaii’s largest annual short film festival dedicated to presenting original works by students, amateurs and professional filmmakers driven by a common goal — expressing a creative relationship with the Islands. After the screening, talk story with filmmaker Alika Maikau, whose film “Mauka to Makai” shares the screen with selected shorts “The Moon & The Night,” “Last Taxi Dance,” “Kalewa” and “Hae Hawai’i.” Tickets are $10 (plus applicable fees).
