WHALES UNDER THE STARS FRIDAY

Don’t miss this free evening featuring an outdoor multimedia presentation with thrilling video, sounds and photos of whales around the world, accompanied by a presentation by renowned whale research pioneer, author and activist Greg Kaufman. It takes place under the stars at Kalama Park in Kihei from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday. This special “Whale Day Eve” event is free and open to the public. Seats will be provided (or bring your own lawn chair and blanket). Reservations for seating are strongly recommended. For more information, call 249-8811, Ext. 1.

‘WHALE LOVE’ PREMIERES AT SECOND FRIDAY TOWN PARTY

Head to Campbell Park at dusk for a free presentation “Whale Love” by National Geographic photographer Flip Nicklin and Whale Trust Maui cinematographer Jason Sturgis. Whale Tales 2014 include international scientists, photographers and conservationists presenting their latest findings and groundbreaking research at the 8th annual Whale Tales event to be held Friday to Monday at The Maui Theater.

STARRY NIGHT CINEMA: ‘TANGLED’

Maui Arts & Cultural Center presents Disney’s animated film “Tangled.” The film starts at 7 p.m., but everyone is encouraged to come early and enjoy music by Randall Rospond and movie snacks and family dinner options with some of Maui’s food vendors. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
