Pet of the Week

In Jeb’s, No. F7, two short years in this world, he sure has been through the ringer, and could really use a break these days . . . When he was dumped in the back lot at the shelter in March, Jeb wasn’t sure what his fate would be. A super skinny pointer mix, with a hairless body covered in scabs and heartworm positive too, he had no idea what was gonna happen. Luckily the kind staff took him right in and started the treatment Jeb needed to get better. He still can’t believe it! Not only did they give him medicine for his ailments and get Jeb’s weight up to 49 pounds, but they also gave him love (which he happens to think is the best medicine ever!). All this TLC is helping Jeb forget the sadness of his past, although he can still be bashful and head shy at first. Lucky for Jeb, he’s getting extra snuggles, treat time, and kind words mean a lot to him too. Since he got so used to feeling like he’s doing everything wrong, Jeb’s actually a very well-mannered and eager-to-please kissy-face now. We know he’s gonna be a work in progress for a while, but Jeb promises to repay your kindness by being a loyal best friend that will never forget the second chance he’s been given and most of all the chance to be the ultimate BFF for you!

Looking for a best buddy that loves to cruise by your side, show off with her toys and cover you with kisses too? Well, I’m Bethany, No. 66, a 3-year-old pit-mix who’s looking for someone who will appreciate all the things that I love to do. See, my last owner wasn’t taking care of me, so Maui Humane Society brought me in for help on Jan. 30. I was rail thin, infested with a ton of parasites and covered in sores, too. With a few months of cuddles, kisses and proper care, I’m up to 54 pounds and doing better than ever. Now, I love to spend my days going on walks with volunteers, playing with my squeakies, and exploring and earning all the love I missed out on before I came here. Basically, if you give me the chance to be your loving lady, I promise to repay you in all the love, adoration and joyful antics that are sure to keep you smiling for years to come. If that sounds like a good arrangement to you, head on down and ask for Bethany today.

Are you looking for the ultimate cuddle buddy that will totally shower you with a ton of love? Well, Piper, No. 46, is as outgoing and affectionate as they come. Since he’s just a 6-month-old fella, he sure still loves to play with his toys. In fact, this neutered, domestic-short-haired guy loves to leap in the air for his toy mice and really show off for you. Interacting with you is his favorite thing ever. That’s why Piper is bummed that he keeps getting overlooked at the shelter. We think it may be because he had ringworm when he was younger, but it’s all gone now. Now Piper’s ready for all the kisses and cuddles he can get. So, if you would like to give him a chance to be your wonder boy, he will keep you smiling with his playful ways, and he’ll even leap right into your arms for kisses. If that sounds like fun to you, come on down and ask to take a peek at Piper today.
