Wanderlust Whistler will be a yoga lover’s dream come true Aug. 3 to 6.

Attendees can practice a wide range of yoga styles fit for all levels, join in outdoor activities such as hiking, running, kayaking, paddle-boarding and mountain biking, indulge in food and wine events including the Farm to Table Dinner, and listen to outdoor concerts by Charles Bradley & The Extraordinaires, Elijah Ray and more.

Held at Whistler Olympic Park, this unique race starts at the bottom of the ski jump and ends at the top.

That’s a 37-degree incline set to put competitor’s calves, quads and endurance to the ultimate test. Categories for the race include full distance, coed relay and a firefighter, police and EMS personnel course for the fittest among us.

Crankworx Whistler will be on a roll Aug. 11 to 20 and it has established itself as one of the most prestigious free-ride mountain bike festivals in the world. The best riders and biggest fans come out for a week of gravity-fueled racing, slope-style competitions, bike demos, Kidsworx, and the best chance to shred top Whistler trails with other like-minded bike fans. Every day of the fest offers a schedule packed with events, races and demos, many of them free to watch.

Crankworx Deep Summer Photo Challenge returns to Whistler as part of Crankworx, where talented photographers, including Whistler’s own Ollie Jones, will present their own unique twist on the story of mountain biking from behind the lens. The photographers will rally their chosen athlete teams and embark on three days of intense shooting and editing. Watch the final slide shows on Aug. 16 at a free screening at Whistler Olympic Plaza.

Art on the Lake workshops from introductory to advanced in a variety of visual art forms will run through summer. Held at the Alta Lake Station House, a rustic heritage home located on the waterfront, the program includes watercolor painting, indigo dye, macrame, henna and incense making.

Other events are Pemberton Slow Food Cycle and Araxi Longtable Dinner — both set for Aug. 20; 5 Peaks Trail Running Race on Aug. 26; the Whistler Classic North American Enduro Tour on Sept. 9 and 10; and Whistler Village Beer Festival will let you sip and learn Sept. 16 and 17.
