Second annual Maui Chefs Invitational lineup and dates announced
The Mill House at Maui Tropical Plantation in Waikapu will host a group of chefs from various culinary capitals around the United States.
The second annual Maui Chefs Invitational has hand-picked top talents for this three-day collaboration set for Sept. 1 to 3 at the plantation.
The lineup includes Brooke Williamson of Playa Provisions and Hudson House in Los Angeles, Fabian Von Hauske and Jeremiah Stone of Contra and Wildair in New York City, Ken Gilbert of Gilbert’s Underground Kitchen in Jacksonville, Fla., Brett Cooper of Aster in San Francisco and Travis Grimes of Husk in Charleston, S.C.
“We invite the community to join us as we embark on an adventure with these highly acclaimed chefs from various cities and backgrounds,” says host Chef Jeff Scheer of The Mill House. “Their innovative menus and cutting-edge techniques will leave a lasting impression on the islands, paving the way for more progress in our growing culinary community. This event opens the doors for you to learn from and interact with leading chefs.”
These chefs, along with Sheldon Simeon of Tin Roof on Maui and host Scheer will do multi-course tasting events Sept. 1 and 2 at the Maui Chefs Table Pavilion. Tickets cost $250 per person.
Then on Sept. 3, these chefs will be joined by a host of Maui culinarians for a barbecue on the Orchid Lawn. Guests will be able to graze on dishes from booths on the lawn and can mix and mingle. Cost is $75.
