** “Proper Pruning Of Fruit Trees” will be from 10 a.m. to noon, Wednesday at Lumeria Maui, Makawao. Learn the best strategies for pruning fruit trees and how to avoid common mistakes that can be quite costly. Learn how to keep fruit trees looking healthy, beautiful and thriving. Cost is $29.

• Business workshop. The following County of Maui Mayor’s Office of Economic Development workshop will be held at Maui County Business Resource Center, Maui Mall, Suite B-9. To reserve a seat, call 270-5770. Workshops are free unless otherwise noted.

** “The ABC’s of a Business Plan” with David Daly will be from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday. Core Four Business Planning is a 36-hour course on how to write a business plan while providing the information you need to know in order to start, operate and grow your business. This workshop is a one hour introductory workshop which will provide you with a better understanding of the course outline.

• Being Like GD with Kobi Gil from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays through Sept. 6 at the Jewish Congregation of Maui, 634 Alulike St., Kihei. This class teaches Kabbalistic principles as conveyed by the “Ashlag” in the mid-20th century and as presented by Rabbi Arik Naveh. We all want to know how to connect to the Divine and get the best tools for succeeding in this life. Learn how to use the principles of the Torah to be a better person. How are we supposed to understand the saying “what is abhorrent to you do not onto others” on the one hand and “love your neighbor as thyself” on the other.
