** “5 Strategies for Controlling Garden Pests” free online class will be from 3 to 4 p.m. today. Learn strategies for identifying common garden pests and how to control them.

** “Success in Growing Tomatoes” will be from 10 a.m. to noon, Wednesday at Lumeria Maui, Makawao. Learn strategies for growing tomatoes in your garden, including selecting the right varieties, garden preparations, fertilization, pests and diseases control and much more. Cost is $29.

• Business workshops. The following County of Maui Mayor’s Office of Economic Development workshops will be held at Maui County Business Resource Center, Maui Mall, Suite B-9. To reserve a seat, call 270-5770. Workshops are free unless otherwise noted.

** “Grow Your Email List and Grow Your Sales All Year Long” with Mckenna Hallett will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. Monday. Email marketing is still the number one tool. It’s still 40 times more effective at gaining customers than Facebook and Twitter combined. This workshop will help you identify how to gather contacts, plus provide tips, technologies and tactics for keeping your contacts organized and segmented for easier, more effective targeted marketing.

** “Understanding and Supporting Your Child’s Sensory Needs” with Susan Varsames will be from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday. This is a workshop for parents, teachers and child-care providers to understand how to support sensory needs. Varsames will teach the three-step process of sensory integration, review the multiple sensory channels and discuss the over- and under-reactive child. With expanded understanding of how your children and students are managing sensory stimuli, she will review strategies for support at home, school and community integration.
