Viewpoints Gallery in Makawao celebrates a longtime Maui arts fixture — the one and only George Allan.

Since making Maui his home in 1973, Allan’s paintings have touched countless visitors and residents alike who share in his appreciation for our beautiful island.

In homage to his many contributions to the Maui arts scene, the gallery asked Allan to invite a group of fellow artists and friends to take part in his annual December show at the gallery, which runs from Saturday through Jan. 29.

Planned friends include Pamela Andelin Cameron, Joelle C., Mike Carroll, Michael Clements, Anneliese Flemming, Joseph Fletcher, Betty Hay Freeland, Rita Goldman, Fred KenKnight, Kathy MacDonald, Ronaldo Macedo, Jill Painter, Sue Perry, J.B. Rea and Donnette- Gene Wilson.

The gallery will be celebrating Allan’s 80th birthday during the planned opening night reception, which begins at 5 p.m.

Viewpoints Gallery is located at 3620 Baldwin Ave. in Makawao. Hours are 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. For more information, visit www.viewpointsgallerymaui.com or call 572-5979.
