To have your class, workshop or presentation included in this free listing, email its title, instructor, location, dates, start/end times, cost and brief description to currents@mauinews. com. Due to the volume of submissions, items will be listed as close as possible to their start date; if a deadline to enroll is included, the event will be listed on the Sunday before deadline. • Bon Dance practice with Jonah Nishimura-Valois will be from noon to 12:45 p.m. Sundays through June 3 at Kahului Jodo Mission, 325 Laau St., Kahului. Learn new or refresh yourself with the old dances. All are welcome. To register or for more information, call 281-9155.

• Akaku (YBEAM) mobile video training will be held in two sessions from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 to 5 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, June 5 through July 7, and consists of seven class sessions plus a final field day. Akaku Mobile Youth Journalism (YBEAM) offers youth ages 12 to 18 the opportunity to become a certified mobile producer and learn the fundamentals of video production, media ethics, broadband and journalism with hands-on training. “Strokes — How to Avoid Them” with Steve Blake will be 2 p.m. Monday at Kalama Heights, 101 Kanani Road, Kihei. Learn how to reduce your risk of getting a stroke; which food can more than double your risk of stroke; which food can lower stroke risk by 80 percent; how to lower blood pressure to reduce stroke risk; learn how to reduce arterial clogging with food, which spices, herbs and supplements can help. • Maui Social Media School, Instagram workshop with Danielle Miller will be 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesday at Maui Research and Technology Center, 590 Lipoa Pkwy, Kihei. • Keiki summer art classes “Animal Kindness Club” with Barbara Steinberg will run Wednesday through Sept. 5 at Maui Bridge Club, Kenolio Recreation Center, 131 South Kihei Road, Kihei. ** “Quickbooks for Small Business” with Richard Kehoe will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Learn to set up your company’s QuickBooks in a small class setting with personalized tutoring. Cost is $45.
