Adult classes and workshops at the Hui No‘eau this month

The Hui No’eau Visual Arts Center in Makawao is offering several adult classes and workshops.

If you have no previous experience, the “Drop-in Jewelry!” with Julie Matheis from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday is perfect for you.

Matheis will guide you through all the steps to create a wearable piece of jewelry — either bangles or stackable rings. Cost is $35 for members, $44 for non-members, plus a $10 jewelry supply and lab fee.

Another class that requires no experience is “Drop-in Printmaking!” with Tania Arens from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on July 25.

This is a great way to get a taaste of printmaking and is a fun, creative activity to enjoy with friends or family. Cost is $15 plus $10 for printmaking supplies and lab fee.

A master class designed for intermediate and advanced level printmakers will be offered from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday through July 22.

“Post Impressions: Beyond Initial Printing” with Charles Cohan is for those who have previously produced work in the Hui’s print studio. The class will be based upon further or future processing of existent plates and will guide the printmaker to the next level of experience.

Cost is $250 for members, $313 for non-members, plus a $75 printmaking supply and lab fee.
