Montage Kapalua Bay keeps on bubbling with champagne pop up
The Montage Kapalua Bay continues to bubble with the Champagne Hale at Cliff House, a pop-up bar and lounge featuring Veuve Clicquot, from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursdays through Sundays until Sept. 1.
Champagne Hale at Cliff House is open to the public to enjoy sunsets overlooking the Pacific Ocean while sampling a variety of Champagnes perfectly paired with an innovative menu. This season, it is celebrating the 200th anniversary of Veuve Clicquot Rose Champagne by pouring exclusive, limited-edition bottles made especially for this bicentennial celebration.
As the only venue on Maui to pour these refined labels by Veuve Clicquot, the Cliff House uses inspired mixology to create, if you prefer, drinks over ice with fresh ingredients such as pineapple and citrus.
“We are excited to bring back this innovative experience to our guests and visitors this summer,” enthuses Montage Kapalua Bay Managing Director and Vice President Richard Holtzman. “The 2017 season, which was our first year presenting the Champagne Hale at Cliff House, proved to be a huge success, and we are happy to continue to offer this one-of-a-kind venue.”
Nestled on the cliffs of Namalu Bay, the historic Cliff House provides breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean, Molokai and Lanai. The original structure was built in 1940 as a fun facility for managers of the old Honolua Plantation. Today it’s adorned in signature Veuve Clicquot yellow with surfboards and a beach-chic environment.
Champagnes are Veuve Clicquot Rich and Rich Rose, the signature Yellow Label, Non-Vintage Rose and La Grande Dame, available by the glass and in a special “sunset tasting flight.” Light bites are Kualoa oysters on the half shell with black-truffle ponzu, raspberry-ume sambal and mignonette; Thai watermelon with Kula goat cheese; bigeye tuna tartare; fresh mozzarella with tomatoes and Kula strawberry shortcake.
