Mistletoe time at Montage Kapalua Bay
12 Days of Relaxation, ‘kissing’ photo ops, feasts, bubbly and shopping on calendar
Want to be caught in a kiss under the mistletoe and then have the photo posted on social media?
Montage Kapalua Bay is bringing back its Mistletoe at Montage annual social media campaign, now until Monday, Dec. 31. The program invites guests and Maui residents to find the mistletoe, snap a photo with friends and family, and share on social media using the hash tags #MontageMistletoe and #MontageMemory. The resort will share the memories underneath the mistletoe every Monday.
Adults can tuck into the 12 Days of Holiday Relaxation Friday through December 25 with special promotions at Spa Montage.
“We give a gift every day for the 12 Days of Relaxation to anyone who books a treatment for whatever 12 Days offering is highlighted that day,” says Spa Montage Director Jennifer Holzworth. “Each day will be different — you get a gift of body oil as an example.
In addition, those who book a 90-minute spa treatment on Friday will get the gift of a free wellness class. On Saturday, purchase a personal training package and you get 5 percent savings.
“From wellness to beauty to retail therapy, it’s all on there,” says Holzworth.
“With all of those offerings of 100 dollars or more, our guests will get complimentary access to our facilities,” she adds. “It features a steam room, dry sauna, whirlpool, coed and gender specific whirlpools, outdoor infinity pool and a full-service fitness center.”
Spa Montage recently went through a renovation, so there are enhancements and a refresh as well.
“The juice bar has become a boutique,” explains Holzworth. “We have a full-service menu available poolside as well as grab-and-go items. We feature really great fish tacos as well as salads. The spa menu changes seasonally. You also can order smoothie options.”
Some other 12 Days offers are a complimentary booster with a hydraulical treatment on Dec 16 and the Gift of Love Dec. 19, in which you reserve a couples treatment and get a gift for two.
“The 12 Days of relaxation came from really extending the holidays further outside of Christmas week,” Holzworth says. “We wanted to get people excited ahead of time.”
Running from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursdays starting this week and also Dec. 27, Jan. 3 and 31, the Sacred Sound Bath and Meditation will enchant at Spa Montage.
“We have invited Christina Felty and Paul Balmer of Shanti Sound Healing,” says Holzworth. “They will bring sacred metal Tibetan singing bowls, which were crafted by Nepalese artisans and infused with blessings by Himalayan monks.”
Crystal quartz pyramids and wind gongs will be used to spiritually sweep you away on a transcendent sound journey. Cost is $30 per person. You must be 12 years and older to attend, and children younger than 16 years old must have a guardian present. Doors open at 5:45 p.m.
Felty and Balmer of Shanti Sound Healing will return from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 20 and Jan. 17 for the Cacao & Sound Ceremony.
The journey begins with the ceremonial cacao drink, a brief guided chakra meditation and calming sounds of a water gong, Tibetan singing bowls, drum, rattle and chimes. Cost $45 per person. Must be 16 or older.
Advance reservations are required. Call Spa Montage at 665-8282.
The first holiday Sip & Shop open-market event will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 27 and 28 at the resort’s Sunset Room. Shop local and sip the refreshing Veuve Clicquot Rich Champagne cocktail that made its first debut in Hawaii at the resort.
Local vendors are Aloha Nectar, Jewels of Maui, Maui Jim, Moana Glass, Jaxsea, Mala Mantra, Pohala, Lyric Hawaii, A Maui Day and Lani & Lace. Open to all. Those younger than 21 years old may enjoy a non-alcoholic drink. Complimentary valet parking is available.
Satisfy your holiday appetite through the season at Montage Kapalua Bay with a Christmas Eve prix-fixe dinner from 5 to 9 p.m. at Cane & Canoe priced at $75 per person; and a Christmas Day dinner buffet from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. at a cost of $115 per person and $40 for children ages 5 to 12. You may also usher in 2019 on New Year’s Eve with a four-course dinner.
