Mahalo nui to Timmy Akina Jr., Tony Akina, Cherisse Fernandez, JC Fernandez, Lani Green, Eloi Joaquin and Jayson Nakasone for taking vacation days to help with the senior project Soccer Camp on March 20 to 22. Publicity posters created by Maui High’s Megan Chu Matsumoto and teacher Allen Kennedy recruited 47 players and six college coaches. Thanks to King Kekaulike Boys Soccer for loaning athletic equipment. The Maui Fire Department and County Lifeguards provided a first aid tent for player safety. I also appreciate the kokua and facility use provided by Kamehameha Schools Maui. A special mahalo to my senior project adviser, Mrs. Noelani Yatsushiro. The combined efforts of multiple soccer clubs and high schools resulted in several offers for Maui players to attend Mainland colleges with scholarships. Me ka mahalo nui.

I just want to give my most sincere thanks to all the wonderful people at the Environmental Protection & Sustainability Division as well as EnviroServices for allowing me to drop off my household hazardous waste (batteries, chemicals, pesticides, etc.) this past Sunday.

I made my reservation by phone last week and dropped my items off without any delay. The staff was efficient and friendly. This is a great program and I will not hesitate to use it again next time. Mahalo nui loa.
