Workshop to update tax professionals
The state Department of Taxation will be holding a Summer Tax Workshop for tax professionals 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Aug. 15 at the Maui Beach Hotel Elleair Rainbow Ballroom in Kahului.
This year’s workshop topics include the department’s voluntary disclosure program, an update on the expiration of Act 105; general excise tax exemptions and key tax measures passed during the recently concluded legislative session.
“We’re pleased to present our annual summer workshops for the state’s tax professionals,” said Director of Taxation Fred Pablo about the series of events statewide. “These workshops provide us a chance to update and educate our tax community on issues.”
The deadline to sign up for the Maui session is Aug. 8.
The fee is $80 for those who submit their registration and payment by the deadline. Late registrations are $100; walk-in registrations will be accepted at the door on a space-available basis.
The fee includes a continental breakfast, workshop materials and four hours of Hawaii Board of Public Accountancy Continuing Professional Education credit.
Workshop materials may be purchased separately for $25 per set.
