Launiupoko bed-and-breakfast makes top 10 list
Ho’oilo House in Lahaina has been selected as a top 10 beach bed-and-breakfast by BedandBreakfast.com.
The website, based in Austin, Texas, is a comprehensive global site for finding bed-and-breakfast properties, with more than 13,000 properties worldwide representing nearly 80,000 rooms.
Ho’oilo House is in Launiupoko and one mile above the beach.

Fashion expanding. Lily of Valley Isle, a Maui-based clothing company, said that it will begin to offer “chic sustainable fashion” to Maui resorts and speciality boutiques.
The company is co-founded by Lily Clark and Amy DeCew. Their current E Komo Mai collection reflects an island lifestyle, bringing the experience of Hawaii home for many visitors, a news release said.
Each garment is made from organic cotton with low impact dyes and produced at a fair trade certified facility, Clark said.
Special touches include handcrafted coconut and shell buttons.

Maui home in magazine. A luxury residence in the Kapalua Resort has been selected as one of the top 10 ocean homes for sale in the U.S. by Ocean Home Magazine.
The home, at 3 Kapalua Place, is featured in the magazine’s August/September issue.
The home is being sold by Pat Choi of Choi International Realty and is only one of four custom residential oceanfront properties in Kapalua, a news release said.
It was designed by architect Jeffrey Long of Long & Associates Architects and Interiors, and the interiors were handled by Kimberly Howard, also of Long & Associates.

Fast Kihei company. Banks Pacific Construction of Kihei ranked second in this year’s 50 fastest growing small businesses in Hawaii, a news release said.
The rankings were announced Aug. 15 in Honolulu when Pacific Business News revealed its 2013 “Fastest 50” list. The list showcases Hawaii companies with rapid and verified year-over-year growth.
