Down to Earth sells products at e-store

Down to Earth Organic & Natural opened an e-store Friday that features more than 100 items.

Products for sale include local coffee, honey, cosmetics, sunscreen, facial care, oils and massage lotions and vegetarian supplements, including vitamins, protein powders, heart and bone health aids, antioxidants, cold and flu herbal remedies.

Noni, Spirulina and Down to Earth private label products will be for sale as well.

The site may be accessed at estore.downtoearth.org.

“Opening an e-store marks a major milestone in the 37-year history of Down to Earth,” said Mark Fergusson, chief organic officer. “People from underserved parts of the state and throughout the nation will now have easy access to popular local products sold in our brick-and-mortar stores.”

The e-store has been designed on an amazon.com platform, which provides customers with a familiar and secure environment, he said.

Down to Earth, which sells organic and natural foods and local products, began with a small Wailuku store in 1977 and now has five stores in Kahului on Dairy Road and Honolulu, Kailua, Pearlridge and Kapolei on Oahu.

Vans, an action sports footwear and apparel company, will be opening in the Queen Ka’ahumanu Center this summer.

It will be the first location for the store in the Neighbor Islands.

“The brand’s roots in Hawaiian surf culture and talent for creating footwear and apparel for an active lifestyle make it a natural fit for our community and a perfect addition to Queen Ka’ahumanu Center,” said Todd A. Vines, marketing manager of the center.
