Pele Awards go to two Valley Isle businesses
Two Maui businesses won top honors for their advertising and design work in the statewide Pele Awards competition sponsored by the American Advertising Federation.
Sae Design in Wailuku brought home three awards and Hawaii on TV / Jazz Alley TV won one award, according to the results released Tuesday.
More than 100 companies, art directors, copywriters, designers and other industry professionals submitted entries for 18 category groups, which includes television, interactive media, consumer or trade publication, public service and other.
Sae Design, founded by Saedene Yee-Ota, won a “Pele Gold” award for its packaging and campaign for “Spa Halekulani”; a silver medal for its packaging and campaign for “The Market & Wailea Organics”; and another silver for its sales promotion and campaign for “Migrant Promo.”
Hawaii On TV / Jazz Alley TV won a bronze medal for its “Aunty Nona Beamer” movie trailer.
All Pele Gold winners are automatically entered to compete in the national finals of the American Advertising Awards being judged in Washington, D.C., in May.
