Hula Grill celebrates 20 years

Hula Grill Kaanapali recently celebrated its 20-year anniversary.

On June 6, it held a party for its longtime fans, employees and community members. Through its Legacy of Aloha program, the restaurant has put $20,000 back into the community in the last year and a half.

The donations have included a new vacuum sealer for the Maui Culinary Academy. Also in June, the restaurant donated $5,914 to the Hawai’i Agricultural Foundation.


Christian bookstore. Julio and Susana Arvizu have re-opened Fuente de Vida, a Christian bookstore in Lahaina.

The store is located in the Lahaina industrial area at 283 Wili Ko Place, Unit 11. Its phone number is 661-5379.

Cuts at Maui Mall. Supercuts recently opened in the Maui Mall.

The salon is next to Hawaiian Island Creations.

The new Supercuts is led by Holly Zackious. Supercuts salons are owned and franchised by the Regis Corp.


More gas in Lahaina. Aloha Petroleum Ltd. celebrated the opening of its first Aloha branded fueling station in Lahaina from June 12 to 14.

Aloha rebranded the location from Shell to Aloha during a four-month, $600,000 renovation project, upgrading the location to Aloha’s new design and image program.

The station is at the intersection of Mill and Dickenson streets.

The Aloha Island Mart, which has been at the location, also has updated features to its interior and its products.


New real estate. Dano Sayles, a local real estate veteran and the previous owner of RE/MAX Maui, is the new broker/owner of RE/MAX Lifestyle, which opened in June at the Wailea Town Center.
