* Kokua Realty congratulates Mariah Brown, co-founder of the Da Kitchen restaurants and sales agent with Kokua Realty, for winning the Pacific Business News’ Businesswoman of the Year in the for-profit category.
Brown is a multimillion-dollar producer serving clients on Maui and Oahu, according to a news release from Kokua Realty.
* Tom Bean, who has more than 20 years of professional experience in the restaurant industry, recently was named Ko restaurant’s new manager.
Bean oversees the daily operations of the award-winning restaurant at The Fairmont Kea Lani, Maui.
Recently, Bean was the general manager at Portland’s landmark eatery, Ringside Steakhouse. He holds a sommelier degree with the International Sommelier Guild.
* Dr. Bobby C. Baker, president and medical director at Pacific Cancer Institute of Maui, recently was inducted as a fellow in the American College of Radiology.
Baker is also a clinical professor and investigator at the University of Hawaii Cancer Center in Honolulu.
Being inducted as a fellow is one of the highest honors the ACR can bestow on a radiologist, radiation oncologist or medical physicist, according to a news release.
ACR Fellows demonstrate a history of service to the college, organized radiology, teaching or research. About 10 percent of ACR members achieve the distinction.
* Jon Fujimoto of Bank of Hawaii recently was promoted from assistant vice president to vice president at the bank’s Maui Commercial Banking Center in Wailuku.
In addition to his client relationship responsibilities, he monitors credit risk, negotiates credit terms and promotes various credit and noncredit banking products and services to clients.
He joined Bank of Hawaii in 2007 as a consumer banking representative at the in-store branch of Safeway in Piilani in Kihei.
