Hawaii Job Corps workers gain experience helping merchant

Three Hawaii Job Corps workers helped Teri Edmonds with cleaning, organizing, painting and general sprucing up at her Wailuku footwear and shoe-repair business, If The Shoe Fits in Wailuku. In exchange, proprietor Edmonds provided retail sales training and on-the-job experience. One of the students will be returning as a part-time employee of the business, according to a news release.

Meanwhile, If The Shoe Fits and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Maui have completed a shoe donation drive for 2012 and collected more than 2,400 pairs. BBSS receives income from commissions on sale of the shoes through the Savers thrift store.
