Adam Hernandez of Kihei and Kaila Nip of Lahaina were named to the Dean’s List of Linfield College in McMinnville, Ore., for the fall semester. In order to be named to the Dean’s List, students must have completed 12 graded credits and be in the top 10 percent of their class.
Cole Hendrickson of Haiku was recently named to Tarleton State University’s Distinguished Students List for the fall 2012 semester. Hendrickson is enrolled on the Texas university’s Stephenville campus and is majoring in geoscience.
Students on the list include freshmen and sophomores who have a minimum 3.25 grade-point ratio and no grade lower than a C, and juniors and seniors who have a minimum 3.5 GPR with no grade lower than a C. All must be in good standing with the university.
Zachary Ferguson of Lahaina has been named to the Dean’s List of Bentley University in Waltham, Mass., for the fall semester. Ferguson is a junior and a marketing major. To be named to the Dean’s List, a full-time student must have a grade-point average of 3.3 or higher with no course grade below 2.0 during the term.
Marci Sortor, dean and provost of St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minn., has named Kalyn Dorheim of Paia to the Dean’s List for the fall 2012 semester. Dorheim is an undeclared major. She is the daughter of Annette Dorheim and Tracy Dorheim.
The list recognizes students with a semester grade-point average of 3.75 or higher.
Alexa Foley of Haiku earned placement on the Gonzaga University Dean’s List for the fall semester. Students must earn a grade-point average of 3.5 to 3.69 to be included.

Four Maui students earned placement on Gonzaga University’s President’s List for the fall semester: Samantha Beerman of Makawao, Nicole Rosen of Kula, Alecia Tumpap of Makawao and Summer Wilkinson of Makawao.
Students must earn grade-point averages of at least 3.7 to be listed.

Danae Gabrielle Olaso, of Wailuku, was named to the Dean’s Academic Honor List at Baylor University in Waco, Texas, for the 2012 fall semester. She is studying in the College of Arts and Sciences.
To be named to the Dean’s List, a student must be an undergraduate with a minimum grade-point average of 3.7 while enrolled in a minimum of 12 semester-hours.
Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles announced that three students from Maui had been named to the Dean’s List for the fall 2012 semester: Kaitlin Dela Cruz of Makawao, Ashley Hudson of Kihei and Kayla Mikasa of Makawao.
Students named to the Dean’s List must complete 15 semester-hours and earn a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or better. Additionally, a student must have completed all of his or her courses and never received an F in any course.
Chad Ikeda, a sophomore and resident of Kahului, has been named to the Dean’s List at the University of Washington in Seattle for 2012 and also to the Dean’s List for the autumn quarter.
To qualify for the Dean’s List, a student must be taking at least 12 graded credits and have a grade-point average of at least 3.5.
Ikeda is the son of Blaine and Kathie Ikeda of Kahului. He is majoring in biology. He is a 2011 graduate of Kamehameha Schools-Maui.
Moani Ichinose was a recipient of the Dean’s Award for academic excellence during the 2012 fall term at Colgate University in Hamilton, N.Y.
To be eligible for the Dean’s Award, a Colgate student must achieve higher than a 3.30 grade-point average while enrolled in at least four courses.
Ichinose, a senior at Colgate, is a graduate of Seabury Hall.
Joanna P. Harran of Pukalani was named to the Dean’s List at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine, for the fall semester.
Harran, an English major, is a graduate of Seabury Hall and the daughter of Wayne and Janet Harran of Pukalani.
Cassandra Remer of Kahului was named to the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Dean’s List for the fall semester. She is an education and human sciences major.
Victoria Rae Puaku’u Loewen of Wailuku made the Seattle Pacific University 2012 Autumn Quarter Dean’s List. Students on the Dean’s List completed at least 12 credits and attained a 3.50 or higher grade-point average.
Saint Martin’s University in Lacey, Wash., has issued its fall semester 2012 Dean’s List for outstanding academic achievement.
To earn academic honors at Saint Martin’s, undergraduate students must receive a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher (based on a 4.0 scale), carry at least a 12 semester-hour course load and complete all work undertaken for the semester.
Making the list are Justine Nicole Malek, a freshman from Kula studying education; Natasha Amber Sensano, a senior from Kahului studying English; and Andrea Lynne Thyne, a senior from Haiku studying business administration.
