Henry Kapono to headline Valentine’s benefit for Will Smith Foundation

The Will’s Hearts in Haiku Valentine’s Day Soiree 2013, supporting the Will Smith Foundation, will take place from 5:30 to 10 p.m. Feb. 14 at the Haiku Mill.

Grammy-nominated singer and songwriter Henry Kapono will headline the event. Ekolu Kalama also will perorm.

Funds raised from the event subsidize the services provided by the Will Smith Foundation. The foundation is a nonprofit organization with a mission to provide positive life experiences for underprivileged children.

The foundation was formed in July 2007 after a Maui car crash took the life of 8-year-old Will Smith. The foundation honors Will’s memory by continuing the kindness and generosity that he showed to other children.

The Will’s Hearts in Haiku Valentine’s Day Soiree will include Valentine’s Day-inspired food and a silent auction. Tickets are $100 if purchased by Tuesday and $125 thereafter.

Tickets can be purchased at Mala Ocean Tavern in Lahaina, Anthony’s Coffee in Paia and online at www.eventbrite.com.

Sponsors for the event include Kapono, Ocean Vodka, Maui Brewing Co., Vasi Catering and David Nakamura.
