Maui High receives $5,000 through Mobi PCS program

As the second-place winner in the Mobi PCS Gear Up and Give Back program, Maui High School received $5,000 from Mobi PCS in January.

The presentation was made by Mike Tuttle, Mobi PCS island sales manager for Maui, to Mark Galiza, student body president, and Principal Bruce Anderson at a school assembly.

“I couldn’t be happier to present Gear Up and Give Back funds to Maui’s own Sabers,” said Tuttle. “After attending the school assembly, it’s clear that Maui High’s support in the community helped it earn that second place.”

By garnering the largest number of community votes, Hilo Intermediate School received $10,000. Castle High School came in third and received $5,000.

Between mid-July and Aug. 31, members of the community were invited to visit any of the 12 Mobi PCS stores statewide to vote for their favorite local elementary, middle or high school using a custom-designed Mobi Gear Up and Give Back Web application.

In addition to all Mobi retail stores, 30 of the company’s authorized dealers were also Gear Up and Give Back voting locations.

The program was open to all local public, charter and private schools.
