Best Buddies volunteers make playground sparkle

Twenty-seven student members from the Best Buddies Chapter at Lokelani Intermediate School, along with eight faculty and staff members, cleaned and washed all the playground equipment at the Kihei Regional Park for their annual public service project.

March is Best Buddies month worldwide, and school chapters are asked to do community service projects that improve their local communities.

Best Buddies is a nonprofit organization dedicated to establishing a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
