460 students attend MHS prom

Chazz Ishikawa and Tiffany Keau reigned as king and queen of the Maui High School Junior Prom on March 30 at the Westin Maui Resort.

The king is the son of Alex and Tammi Ishikawa of Wailuku and the queen is the daughter of Matthew and Maria Keau of Kahului.

Other couples on the Royal Court were Keala Gasmen and Jessica Saki, Jared Kapisi and Tiare Lucas, Joseph Pollard and Vanessa DeCambra Ocampo and Chastin Valdez and Euvelyn Quicquic.

The court performed the school’s traditional prom coronation dance, “The Maui Waltz,” followed by a cha-cha routine to the music of “Live While We’re Young.” Both dances were choreographed by Alvin and Michie Chee.

The prom committee chairperson and court organizer was Euvelyn Quicquic. The class advisers were Kim Toso and John Melia.

The theme of the prom was “Tonight’s Dream, Tomorrow’s Memory.”

The prom was attended by 460 students.
