Cruise line passengers enjoy music of Henry Allen

Henry and Paki Allen, along with other Hawaii entertainers, have been sharing Hawaiian music with Holland America Cruise Lines passengers heading to the islands since December.

The Allens have created a popular program of Hawaiian culture and music called “On Location Hawaiian Series.”

Allen is a master ukulele and Hawaiian steel guitar player. He has been recognized as one of “Hawaii’s Living Treasures.”

Upcoming engagements include a cruise on the Westerdaam, which the Allens will board in San Diego en route to Lahaina (to arrive Sunday). Later, they will fly to Vancouver to board the Zandaam, which will arrive off Lahaina April 26.

“We are especially pleased to introduce the new program in Hawaii with a talented group of artists, ‘Living Legend and Hawaiian Ambassador’ Henry Kaleialoha Allen, Paki Allen and cultural experts that have given our guests an authentic peek into Hawaii and the unique culture,” said Mike Connachan, manager of cruise programming for the Holland America Line.
