Distance learning degrees topic of workshop
The University Center, Maui, will have a degree preparation workshop to discuss bachelor’s and master’s degree opportunities available on Maui from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the University of Hawaii Maui College. The workshop will be in Room 108 of the Laulima Building.
The center facilitates the offering of distance learning degrees within the University of Hawaii system, including the Manoa, Hilo and West Oahu campuses.
The session will cover requirements for a variety of degrees as well as the application process. The focus is on preparing students of all levels, from recent high school graduates to adults returning to school, for transfer into a distance learning degree program.
The session will include an opportunity to ask questions about UH distance programs in an informal face-to-face setting.
Degree programs available include a master’s degree in social work; post-baccalaureate certificates in teaching; and bachelor’s degrees in early childhood education, business administration, accounting, justice administration, psychology, nursing, disaster preparedness and emergency management, and health care administration, among others.
