Free concert planned Thursday
Roselani Place and Ola Na Mele Productions will present a Picnic for Poki at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Kaahumanu Church in Wailuku, 103 S. High St.
The free monthly concert series will feature Hawaiian entertainment by Pamela Polland, leader of the traditional Hawaiian music group Keaolani.
Polland fashioned Keaolani’s complex vocal arrangements and rich harmonies after the works of Kahauanu Lake. She will sing a variety of traditional Hawaiian music classics solo without her partners. Polland will be joined by several dancers from hula halau Wehiwehi O Leilehua from Kula.
Roselani Place, Maui’s assisted living community, will provide fresh baked cookies, coffee and water. Attendees may bring a lawn chair or mat and their lunch.
