Handmade quilt one of many items at auction

A quilt created by 4th- and 5th-grade Sewing Club students at Kamehameha Schools Maui will be one of the items offered at the schools’ 9th annual Ho’olaule’a’s Silent Auction on Saturday.

The event will run from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and feature entertainment, food, games, a Teen Zone, vendors and a Country Store. Admission is free, with ample parking.

Each sewing club student made squares crafted of randomly chosen strips, and teacher Shana English pieced them together to create the quilt.

Another quilt of Kamehameha Schools Maui T-shirts was crafted by K-12 Assessment Coordinator and Analyst Linda Shibano. It will also be up for bid at the silent auction.
