J. Walter Cameron Center has two new directors

Anders Lyons and Sam Millington have been elected to the Board of Directors of the J. Walter Cameron Center.

Lyons is the director of development for the Hawaiian Islands Land Trust and has been active in a number of community organizations, including the Maui Economic Development Board and the Maui Nui Botanical Gardens, among others.

Millington is the interim chief executive officer for Pacific Biodiesel Technologies and is an experienced private and public sector executive and management consultant who has managed several nonprofit agencies.

In 2003, Millington was named “Maui’s Outstanding Executive Director of a Nonprofit Organization,” for his work with the Hui Malama Learning Center.

Announcing the appointments, Cameron Center Executive Director Cesar Gaxiola said, “We are fortunate to have two individuals join our board with proven successful community and management track records. Their skills will be important assets as we build upon the 40-year history of service by the Cameron Center to those in need and for a place of hope.”

The Cameron Center is located at 95 Mahalani St. in Wailuku. It houses offices for 16 social service agencies. These agencies provide services to as many as 30,000 people annually.

Cameron Center meeting facilities can be rented by members of the public and provide meeting space to more than 200 community organizations and businesses throughout the year and serve as many as 40,000 people annually.
