Two Maui schools win media awards
Kamehameha Schools Maui took home a second-place award in the “Tell the Story” category and Maui Waena Intermediate School received honorable mention in the “Middle School Public Service Announcement” category at the 10th annual Student Television Network convention in Los Angeles from March 7 to 10.
Nearly 2,500 students from 153 middle and high schools across the country attended this year’s convention.
Hawaii was represented by 15 public and private schools.
Student Television Network embraces the educational components of broadcast journalism, video production, filmmaking and media by networking students and teachers with professionals in the industry.
